Future Poster

Assessment: Produce Computer Aided Drawings - Part Two

Final Poster Result:

Explanation:

The poster I've created depicts what I hope my future holds for me in regards to working within the Graphic Design industry. I have done so with the following elements:

Self Vector:
Originally, I had this image in a more natural looking way. However I thought that the coloring suited the poster more - Also, I am a colourful and bright person so I think that it's also depicting me as a person.

Plane Silhouette:
I've placed this into my poster to convey the message of moving forward with my life. Also, I would love to travel to many places to work over my lifetime.

Camera:
I've placed this into my poster as I'm really interested in furthering my knowledge in photography. I think it's very interesting and I would really enjoy it.

Rubix Cube:
I have this in my poster as I believe that problem solving is a large part of the Graphic Design process. To me if you're good at problem solving then this will help you a lot within the industry.

City Silhouette: (upside-down)
I've placed this into my poster as it was a silouhette of Paris. Although not blatantly obvious - I would love to visit Paris. It can also be seen as the "city" as that's where I would like to move/ will be moving at the end of the year.

Type:
The words placed within the poster are self explanatory. They are conveying where I would like my future to steer towards, where I'd like to further my knowledge and experiences.

Arrow:
I've placed the arrow into my poster to help communicate moving forward and gaining more knowledge.

CD Assessment - CUVCRS05B.

Final Results:
(l-r) inside case image & front cover image.
Inside front cover - song information
Disc Image

Image Behind Disc.

Back Image - Track Listing.

Information:

Genre:
Rhythm & Blue's - Modern / Pop
I chose this genre as I liked it myself, Also because at the time no-one else was doing this genre and I wanted to do something a little different from the rest.

Colour Theme:
Red, Black & White
I chose that colour scheme as I think the colours go well together harmoniously & generally look aesthetically pleasing.
Also, I think red is a strong colour that will help the product stand out from the rest.

Imaging:
Upon research on similar album covers for the genre I had chosen I quickly realized that they artists have numerous images of themselves located throughout their album artworks. This is why I've chosen to keep with that similar theme to make the album more "realistic". I had to put a fade on the back image to ensure that the type on the back was clearly legible as track listing is one of the most important parts of album artwork.

Typeface:
I steered away from any complex or detailed fonts for this exercise as I believe the most important element of this artwork is the legibility of your type to ensure you're getting the information across to the "fan base" who are going to be purchasing this item. If they don't get the information they need from it quickly they're more than likely to leave your product. Ending up with no money. I used very small font only where appropriate (as per study of other covers), and done so to get a large amount of information across in a small amount of space.

Cartoon/ Children's Characters - Assessment.

 Original Cartoon Sketches:

Illustrator Cartoon Characters:

Entire Story - 16 Sentences.

Once upon a time there were five friends who lived in a small garden named Avalon.
They spend their days doing things they enjoy.

First friend we meet is Frankie the flower.
She is always happy and cheerful.

She adores the sunshine, and talking to Lily the ladybug.
Lily the ladybug is the kindest bug you could ever meet in Avalon.

She is nice to everyone, and she likes to hear jokes from Carlos the cactus.
Carlos the cactus is the funniest plant in all of Avalon.

He enjoys making jokes and always has his friends laughing.
Barry the bee thinks Carlos’s jokes are very funny.

Barry the bee is very smart.
He loves doing puzzles and playing games with Simon the snail.

Simon the snail is our final friend from Avalon.
He likes to learn new things and read books.

Most of all, he loves to spend time with all of his friends.
Together they play, talk joke, laugh and have fun.

Explanation:
Age Group:
 6-8 y/o

Colour:
I chose to keep with a simple and vibrant colour scheme. I wanted something that would draw the attention of the audience, however not take too much away from the type as it's equally if not more important.

Type Face:
I chose something simple and clean as this will help with he readability for the target audience as they will be still in the learning stages when it comes to literacy. Info: Helvetica, Normal, 32 Pt.

Story:
I had created the idea of my characters in my head before I'd written my story, Therefore I based my story on something appropriate and in relation to my characters - resulting in a Garden called "Avalon".  I kept my sentences short and simple, however I ensured I used some words which may be  a little more challenging for the child who is reading the story.

Characters: I always aimed for simple yet eye catching characters. I believe you don't want your characters to b too fussy as it will draw the eye away from the reading material and make it more difficult for the learning purposes of the book.  However, I kept to the simple garden themed animals and plants and gave each their own personalities. Also, used simple shading to add more depth to the image based part of the assessment. I also kept the characters very similar to the original planning as i was satisfied with the original idea. As shown in the above work.

Other Elements:
In keeping with the simplicity of my entire assessment I tried to keep the spreads fairly free of clutter and distractions. Keeping the elements a good distance from the sentences placed on the pages to keep the readability simple and easy.

I did not place page numbers into my book as I felt it was not needed, as well as upon research into other kid's books many I came across did not contain page numbers which I think suited in the theme of keeping it all as simple as possible.
