This project is more challenging then first thought. The lighting is very difficult to match.

Underwater Composite.

I enjoyed this task. Although it could be much improved - the lighting in particular could be played around with. Also, adding shadow would help add depth but would prove difficult.

Product Three: Nestle, Nescafe Blend 43 to Roasty Blend.

Original Product: Nestle, Nescafe Blend 43
Re-created Product: Roasty Blend

Personal Evaluation: I stayed fairly close to the design I created for this label.
I kept the information to a minimal and created a simple design.

I think it's a little more modern and eye catching than the original label for this product which is what I spoke about when I first evaluated the original label on my blog.

The main issue that arose with this label was the shape of the label and trying to get the label to a 1:1 ratio. I couldn't remove the label from the jar which contributed to this task being difficult.

Product Two: U, Kotex Tampons to S, Katex Tampons.

Original Product: U, Kotex, Platinum Tampons.
Re-created Product: S, Katex, Premium Tampons.

Personal Evaluation:  I think this is my favourite product which I re-created the label design for.
I chose this product simply because I liked it's design therefore I think that made it more difficult to change it to something equally as eye catching and attractive.

When it came to the design I have erred from the original plan, however the colour scheme stayed the same throughout all planning stages also the placing of objects and contents.

The main difficulty I had with this was the recreating the outline of the box with the ratio of 1:1.  Using the rulers to create the box with the correct dimensions. I would like to repeat this process again to ensure that i can do it myself and do it effectively.

Product One: Lux Bodywash to Indulge Bodywash.

Original Product: Lux, Magical Spell Body Wash.
Re-created Product: Indulge, Spell Binding Body Wash.

Personal Evaluation: I followed my original hand drawn design fairly closely and was happy with the end result, although i don't doubt that with more skills i could create something greatly improved.

I stayed with the purple colour theme as it is the colour of the product itself. However, I have added into the design some white because in my original evaluation of the product i did not think the label was bright and eye catching enough. The use of white will help the label stand out from it's see through container.

Knowing the sizing you should use for the font and images was the most difficult thing for me as when printed the look is completely different.

I also didn't round the edges of the label - which was done on the original design.

3 Products: Strong & Weak Aspects.

Front and back label of the product

Product One:  Plastic Container

Lux Bodywash

Strong Elements:

The label of the product is eye catching and stand out from the background product colour.

The label sells the company as well as the product by putting their company name in large font at the top of the label.

The actual product container is an interesting shape which will attract more interest with buyers and also makes it more unique in comparison to it's competitors.

Weak Elements:

Some fonts used in certain areas are very small and may be difficult for buyers to read

The label generally is a little boring.

The design of the entire front & back label doesn't appear extremely well thought out. Eg, the placing of images and text along with the sizing of fonts.

Front and back of the product
 Product Two: Glass Jar

Nescafe Blend 43

Strong Elements:

The label communicates the information to the buyer in a simple way

The use of a strong colour such as red makes it a little more eye catching.

Weak Elements:

Some fonts are very small and may be difficult to read for the buyers.

The colours used in the label blend in with the product colour which takes away from the label itself

The design may be seen as a little too simple

Front and back of the product

Product Three: Box - Unfolded

Strong Elements:

The design is very eye catching and sleek

It uses minimal colours for a maximum effect

The packaging is effective in getting the message across to the buyers about what the product is in a simple way

 Weak:

It's difficult to decipher the products company - therefore doesn't advertise

There is a large amount of text in small fonts which is difficult to read

There is a large amount of information put into a small area on the product making it look somewhat clustered.
